The lab. The Emotion and Memory Systems laboratory is housed in the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB) The ILSB has state of the art wet lab facilities, vivaria, offices, classrooms, auditoria, and computer labs.  The ILSB brings together neuroscientists from Psychological and Brain Sciences, Biology, and Veterinary Biosciences. It is conveniently located near the Northgate business district, which features many campus eateries, shops, and student housing.

The program. Dr. Maren is a Professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences (PBSI) and the Institute for Neuroscience.  The Department of Psychology offers graduate training in Behavioral and Cellular Neuroscience, and the Institute for Neuroscience offers interdisciplinary graduate training in Neuroscience. Both Psychology and Neuroscience at Texas A&M are highly ranked nationally. Graduate students interested in working with Dr. Maren beginning should apply for admission thorough either PBSI or the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Neuroscience.  

The university. Texas A&M University is located in College Station, Texas, which is a friendly college town with many of the amenities of much larger cities.  College Station is ranked among the top 10 college towns in the country.  Located in the Brazos River valley in East Central Texas, College Station is within a two hour drive of Austin and Houston and just up river from historic Washington-on-the-Brazos state park.  College Station is home to a diverse community that genuinely reflects the changing demographics of US cities. From restaurants to beautiful parks, College Station has much to offer.
